Inspired by true events, this smart, funny, and deeply human comedy follows a thrift-store painting, a possible lost Jackson Pollock, and an unexpected clash between a no-nonsense bartender and a highbrow art expert from New York. Big laughs, big questions, and a whole lot of heart.

Each session blends gentle stretching, guided dance sequences, and playful free movement set to clean, feel‑good pop music that moms actually enjoy. The vibe is supportive and inspirational. Nurse, bottle‑feed, soothe, sit, or simply sway—everything counts as movement and connection. We focus on joy over perfection, attuning to postpartum bodies, and strengthening the mother‑child bond through rhythm, breath, and presence.

On Jan. 19, the Archuleta County Democrats will observe Martin Luther King Day with a special matinee presentation of the film Selma, a 2015 Best Picture nominee.
The film recounts events of 1965, when a city in Alabama became a key battleground in the Civil Rights Movement. The struggle culminated with the historic march from Selma to Montgomery.
Synopsis
Selma is the story of a movement. The film chronicles the tumultuous three-month period in 1965, when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led a dangerous campaign to secure equal voting rights in the face of violent opposition. The epic march from Selma to Montgomery culminated in President Johnson (Tom Wilkinson) signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965, one of the most significant victories for the civil rights movement. Director Ava DuVernay’s Selma tells the real story of how the revered leader and visionary Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (David Oyelowo) and his brothers and sisters in the movement prompted change that forever altered history.
Each $25 ticket includes one entry for door prizes, which include gift certificates to local businesses and a copy of KING, the 2024 Pulitzer-Prize winning biography of Dr. King, signed by the author. Additional door prize tickets will be available for purchase.
Doors open at 1 p.m. The program begins at 2.
Proceeds benefit the Archuleta County Democratic Party.

When is a painting more than just a painting?
Winner of the 1998 Tony Award for Best Play and the Olivier Award for Best Comedy, Art is a razor-sharp comedy about friendship, taste, and the fine line between passion and pretension. When one man buys an all-white painting for an eye-popping price, his two best friends are thrown into a hilarious-and sometimes brutal-debate about art, values, and the true meaning of loyalty. A modern classic that’s as thought-provoking as it is laugh-out-loud funny.

Song Sung Blue is a 2025 American biographical musical drama film written, co-produced, and directed by Craig Brewer. It is based on the 2008 titular documentary film by Greg Kohs.[2] The film stars Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson as Mike and Claire Sardina, who performed as the Neil Diamond tribute band Lightning & Thunder. It also stars Michael Imperioli, Ella Anderson, Mustafa Shakir, Fisher Stevens, and Jim Belushi.
