A Special Documentary Screening & Community Conversation

Last year, Pagosa Springs experienced two devastating natural disasters just 60 days apart—a rapidly spreading wildfire followed by record-breaking floods. As our community continues to recover and rebuild, one important question remains:

How can we better prepare for the extremes ahead?

Join us at the Liberty Theatre for Beyond the Embers, a powerful new documentary produced by Christi Bode/Moxiecran Media that explores the challenges our community has faced and the resilience that has emerged in response.

This special evening is more than a film screening—it’s an opportunity to come together as neighbors, learn from recent events, and engage in an important conversation about the future of Pagosa Springs.

Join or Die, a film about why you should join a club, and why the fate of America depends on it.

The League of Women Voters of Archuleta County is pleased to present the award-winning documentary Join or Die! as part of Pagosa’s 250/150 week of celebration. This entertaining film shows the importance of civic engagement in maintaining a healthy democracy—and a healthy mind and body! After the screening, we will have a “joining fair” featuring key local nonprofit agencies. Money raised will fund the nonpartisan League’s central mission here locally: to facilitate community dialogue, increase election participation, and educate the electorate on local issues of importance.

A traditional American rodeo is a must see event.  Authentic cowboys and cowgirls from various states compete for prizes and prize money in this sanctioned rodeo series. The event is also filled with a variety of exhibition events to make an entertaining affair.  Fun for all ages!

Join Xina for a magical introduction to the world of ballet designed especially for dancers ages 5–6! This joyful pre-ballet class nurtures creativity, confidence, coordination, and musicality through imaginative movement, beginner ballet technique, and playful dance activities. Join Aspen House for an exciting day on our local trails! This running and biking event will take you through the forest and trails to compete with others and enjoy beautiful scenery along the way. By participating, you will help take us to the finish line of building Aspen House, a safe and supportive home for adults with developmental disabilities.

• Dusty Kids Gravel Growler starts at 7:30am
• All other races start at 8:15am

All proceeds benefit A Safe Place in Pagosa, Inc. (DBA Aspen House and Aspen Services), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to constructing a home and providing services for adults with developmental disabilities in Pagosa Springs, CO.

The Pagosa Springs Farmer’s Market is held each Saturday and continues through September. The Market opens at 9:00 a.m. and closes at 1:00pm. This year, the market will be held at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church off of South Pagosa Blvd.

The Farmers Market features goods from local farms and gardens in Pagosa Springs and Archuleta County and regional farms in the Four Corners area.

Featuring vendors with fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, flowers, honey, locally produced meats, locally roasted coffee beans, free-range eggs, homemade breads and pastries, fresh and dried mushrooms, handmade chocolates, meals-to-go, herbal products, seedlings and more, from the source direct to you.

In partnership with Healthy Archuleta, we operate to prevent food insecurities through our various voucher programs.

Looking for a fun and educational summer activity for your child? Join us at Chimney Rock National Monument for our 2026 Youth Workshops! Designed for students in Kindergarten through 6th Grade, each workshop combines outdoor exploration, hands-on learning, creativity, and adventure.

June 16 – Digging Up the Past at Chimney Rock

Explore archaeology through a dig activity, hike, atlatl throwing, and drawing project.

June 30 – It’s All About the Nature of Chimney Rock

Discover the natural world through hiking, atlatl throwing, a talking feather activity, and painting project.

July 11 – What’s Crawling Around at Chimney Rock

Learn about insects with bug-themed crafts, bug weaving, and a nature hike.

July 21 – Day-to-Day Life at Chimney Rock

Experience the daily lives of the Ancient Ones through hands-on activities and a beaded bracelet project.

All Workshops are from 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM
