Give your child the extra boost they deserve! The Pagosa Community Initiative offers a fun and supportive tutoring program that helps students grow in reading and math while building confidence, comprehension, and a love for learning.

Who: K–4th Grade Students
When: Mondays–Thursdays | 3:30–5:00 PM. **Wednesday is on waitlist as of 1/7/2026

Pick-Up:
Parents must pick up their child by 5:00 PM from Room #24 at Pagosa Springs Elementary School.

Film Club is for high school students who want to tell stories through film. Work as a team to plan, shoot, and edit a short movie while learning real-world filmmaking skills—on camera and behind the scenes.

Who: 9th- 12th grade students

When: Starting February 3rd and running through April 28th, 2026.

Where: Pagosa Springs Highschool Art Room- Mrs. Lewis’ art classroom

Calling all 4th–8th graders who love storytelling, creativity, and epic quests! Our Dungeons & Dragons Club is the perfect place for students to work together, use their imaginations, and solve problems — all while having fun. No experience is needed; we’ll teach the basics and guide everyone through exciting adventures.

Who: 4th-8th Grade Students

When: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM- Starting October 14th and running through May 21st, 2026.

Where: The Studios by PCI, 550 B Hot Springs Blvd, Pagosa Springs CO 8114

Transportation & Pick-Up: – If attending the public Middle School, PCI will transport your students from the Middle school to the Studios. – If attending another school/program, please drop your student off at 4pm, to the Studios, 550 B Hot Springs Blvd.- Parents must pick up their child no later than 5:00pm from the Studios (location above), unless they are approved to walk home on their own. If you would like to sign a permission slip for walking home, please reach out to youth@pagosacommunityinitiative.org with your students name and the request. We will send it through Brightwheel with the other paperwork.

Heels Dance Class with Josefina

Step into your power with Heels Dance — Uptown Dance Collective’s bold, empowering class designed to help dancers build confidence, strength, and undeniable stage presence. This class blends technique, musicality, and performance-focused choreography in a supportive environment where you can explore your movement, express your personality, and feel completely unstoppable.

Heels is more than just “dancing in heels.” Each class focuses on foundational skills like posture, balance, core strength, control, and clean transitions, helping you move with intention and confidence whether you’re brand new or already experienced.

The PCI Pirate Running Club has been having a blast getting some fresh air and burning off some energy after school!

We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays to run, laugh, and have fun with friends — the perfect way to end the school day. We even have snacks afterwards too!

Open to all PSES students and is free to join!

Join the PCI Pokémon Club!
Calling all Trainers in grades 5–8! Whether you’re a seasoned battler, a card collector, or just love talking all things Pokémon, this club is for you. Trade, play, learn new strategies, and connect with fellow fans in a fun, friendly environment. Catch you there!

Who: 5th-8th Grade Students–> ALL SCHOOLS/HOMESCHOOL WELCOME!

When: Wednesdays, 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM- Starting January 7th, 2026 and running through May 21st, 2026.

Where: Pagosa Springs Middle School- Miss Hemenger’s Class

Transportation & Pick-Up: – If attending the public Middle School, your student will meet PCI staff outside by the ramp at the 7th/8th grade building. They will be checked in and go to Miss Hemenger’s room for a snack and game play!- If attending another school/program, please drop your student off at 3:30pm to the 7th/8th grade building of the Pagosa Springs Middle School. They will be checked in and go to Miss Hemenger’s room for a snack and game play!- Parents must pick up their child no later than 5:30pm from the middle school, unless they are approved to walk home on their own. When arriving at the middle school, please just park and message the PCI staff through Brightwheel that you are there for your student. We will have them clean up and head out. If you would like to sign a permission slip for walking home, please reach out to youth@pagosacommunityinitiative.org with your students name and the request. We will send it through Brightwheel with the other paperwork.

Quiz for a Cause at Uncle’s Social, a fun-filled weekly trivia night where your knowledge can make a difference. Starts at 6:30pm. $10 per team.

Each month we support a different local non-profit, with all proceeds going directly to their important work. Gather your friends, test your trivia skills, and help us give back to the community while having great time! Don’t miss out on the chance to learn, laugh, and contribute to a worthy cause!  Teams can range from 1 person to 6 max.  The first question is asked at 6:30pm sharp so arrive early to get settled.   Come Hungry!  

Tai Chi on Thursdays at Yamaguchi Park! Classes are free for older adults (age 55 and better) and will last approximately 1 hour in the dining hall. No special clothing or equipment is required for either class.

Tai Chi and mindfulness based meditation are not martial arts, but rather tools for self-healing. Softness, flow and effortlessness are the guiding principles in these practices. For Tai Chi, it will include 19 easy to learn movements and one pose designed to stimulate, circulate and balance the vital energy, or universal life force, referred to as ‘Qi’, which is inherent in all of us. Tai Chi is often thought of as a moving meditation because of the calming effect on the mind and emotions, and the release of tension throughout the body.
