The Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado has announced the four local nonprofits selected to benefit from this summer’s 11th annual 19th Hole Concert Series at the Pagosa Springs Golf Club—and we’re excited to share that Pagosa Community Initiative (PCI) is one of them!
Held each Thursday evening in June from 5:30–7:30 PM, the 19th Hole Concerts bring together live local music, community connection, and meaningful fundraising. A $10 donation at the door supports all four participating nonprofits, with corporate sponsors covering event costs so that proceeds can be distributed equally. Last year alone, each organization received $2,500 through this collaborative effort.
This year’s featured nonprofits include:
Each organization addresses a unique and vital need within our community—from early childhood education and family support to environmental stewardship and youth programming.
At PCI, funding from the concert series will directly support expanding access to scholarships for youth to attend our summer camps. This ensures that financial barriers do not prevent children from accessing safe, enriching, and trauma-informed programming during the summer months.
2026 Concert Lineup:
These concerts are more than just a fun evening out—they are a powerful example of community coming together to support local organizations and the families they serve. We hope to see you there on June 18 as we celebrate PCI and the incredible work happening across Archuleta County!

Again this year, SJMA in conjunction with the US Forest Service, Pagosa and Bayfield Ranger Districts, is hosting educational geology hikes, free for the public, from May through October. These interpretive hikes, led and presented by geologists Dave Bouquet and Scott McAllister, will be in an area of the San Juan National Forest rich with evidence of earth’s geologic history from some of the area’s oldest metamorphic rocks, to Cretaceous seaways, to Tertiary volcanoes, to modern glacial deposits.
Pagosa Hot Springs, San Juan River Walk, Reservoir Hill, and the Story of the Mancos Shale
The world’s deepest geothermal hot spring is the Mother Spring aquifer located in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, USA. It is certified by the Guinness World Records, with a measured depth exceeding 1002 ft (305 meters), though it’s true, absolute bottom remains unknown. When did it form and why is it there? Your guide will explain it’s volcanic origin stemming for the largest ever volcanic eruption by volume in North America which created the San Juan Mountains. We’ll walk along the beautiful San Jan River through downtown Pagosa Springs and then up onto Reservoir Hill where you’ll have an amazing view overlooking the town and of the San Juan Mountains and Pagosa Peak. The guide will explain the origin of the black cliffs of the Mancos Shale which underlies the river’s course through the town.
Trail Information: This is a loop route, partially paved and partially rough trail. Hike time is approximately 3 hours total, ~4.5 miles round trip, and about 350 ft. vertical ascent. We will walk along the river, then go over Reservoir Hill and make a loop through the downtown area. There are multiple picnic areas nearby if you wish to bring your own lunch to eat after the hike or you can grab a bite at numerous nearby restaurants.
When: June 18, 2026 from 9:00am – 12:00 pm
Where: Group will meet at the Mary Fisher Park parking lot (on San Juan Street near the restrooms), downtown Pagosa Springs.
What to Bring:
Cost: Free, $10 donation is greatly appreciated!
Please Note: Although pets are allowed along the rout, we ask that pets be left at home as a courtesy to the other guests in the group.
Registration is required. Spaces limited to 25 attendees.

An immersive 4-hour watercolor class focused on building confidence through foundational techniques
SUNDAY, JUNE 28 | 1-5 PM
Hosted at Higher Grounds Coffee
Pagosa Springs, CO
Step beyond loose florals and into a deeper, more confident watercolor practice.
This extended workshop is designed for those who are ready to slow down and truly understand the foundations of watercolor. Together, we’ll move beyond simply following steps and begin building the skills that allow you to paint with intention, freedom, and confidence.
You’ll learn how to see florals and botanicals differently—breaking them down into simple shapes, understanding how watercolor behaves, and gaining control over your brush, color theory, and composition.
Whether you’ve taken a previous class or are simply ready to grow, this experience will give you the tools to continue painting long after the workshop ends.
Coffee, ice cream, and brunch will be available for purchase from Higher Grounds during the event. You’re welcome to arrive early, settle in, and make an afternoon of it.
Seats are limited to 15 participants to allow for a slower pace and more personalized instruction.
Attending two sessions?
Add each workshop to your cart and apply code BOTH10 at checkout to receive $10 off when you register for both evenings.
All ticket purchases are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, you may transfer your seat to a friend.
