In 2007, after seeing a lack of central information for community events in Pagosa Springs, Natalie Carpenter designed and developed the original Pagosa Scene online calendar. The site was heavily used through 2008 but she was forced to abandon the project due to the major economic downturn that caused a loss of site sponsors.
Years passed and Natalie hoped that someone else would develop a comprehensive, sortable and searchable calendar that she could use to find events in Pagosa Springs. Although several other local calendars existed, none included ALL community events in one location, which takes daily work to nurture and harvest.
At the end of 2022 there was still no comprehensive online calendar for Pagosa Springs, which made it seem like there wasn't much happening in the community. Thus, the PagosaScene.com online calendar of events was re-born!
Natalie had retained ownership of the original site name since 2007 and with 20+ years of web development and marketing experience behind her she created the all-new PagosaScene.com event calendar as a fresh, modern site.
Screenshots from the 2007-08 version of PagosaScene.com feature events at places like the Dogwood Cafe, Buffalo Inn, and La Tazza Espresso Bar. Although those venues and many other businesses no longer exist in Pagosa Springs, there are many new ones, as well as many new people, performers, and businesses that keep our community vibrant and alive.
In addition to finding events, PagosaScene.com provides a FREE place to showcase your event, with paid options for highlighting larger events. The site also offers unique advertising opportunities that put businesses in front of both locals and tourists.
“Selling ads is what enables me to keep the website going,” Natalie explains. There is much daily work required to maintain the event site, and she plans to add previous site features like free classifieds and a free business directory with paid options for businesses that want to highlight their offerings.
Natalie’s daughters were toddlers when she first launched PagosaScene.com in 2007, but now they help with the event harvesting required to keep the calendar fresh and up-to-date. Natalie is confident that the all new PagosaScene.com online calendar of events is once again filling a community need.

The Community Foundation serving Southwest Colorado has announced the four local nonprofits selected to benefit from this summer’s 11th annual 19th Hole Concert Series at the Pagosa Springs Golf Club—and we’re excited to share that Pagosa Community Initiative (PCI) is one of them!
Held each Thursday evening in June from 5:30–7:30 PM, the 19th Hole Concerts bring together live local music, community connection, and meaningful fundraising. A $10 donation at the door supports all four participating nonprofits, with corporate sponsors covering event costs so that proceeds can be distributed equally. Last year alone, each organization received $2,500 through this collaborative effort.
This year’s featured nonprofits include:
Each organization addresses a unique and vital need within our community—from early childhood education and family support to environmental stewardship and youth programming.
At PCI, funding from the concert series will directly support expanding access to scholarships for youth to attend our summer camps. This ensures that financial barriers do not prevent children from accessing safe, enriching, and trauma-informed programming during the summer months.
2026 Concert Lineup:
These concerts are more than just a fun evening out—they are a powerful example of community coming together to support local organizations and the families they serve. We hope to see you there on June 18 as we celebrate PCI and the incredible work happening across Archuleta County!
