The entrance fee to the monument will be reduced to $10 per vehicle for this special event, which enables visitors to access the festival and all the regular amenities at the site. These include self-guided tours of the cultural sites, and access to the nature trail and Visitor Plaza. The monument is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Visit this ancient Puebloan cultural site located 17 miles west of Pagosa Springs and 3 miles south on Colo. 151. CRIA is a nonprofit organization which operates the interpretive program at Chimney Rock National Monument under a participating agreement with the USDA Forest Service/San Juan National Forest. Experience the healing benefits of epic spacial vibrations produced by large gongs, singing bowls and other sound instruments made out of new and ancient metals, clay and wood. These unique instruments will surround you in our 1300 square feet acoustical sound space. Experience sound journeys on the first, third and fifth Saturdays of each month, or book a private session!

Sound Journey is 1 hour in length. Yoga mats, blankets, and neck pillows are provided. Bring eye masks and knee support if preferred.

An immersive 4-hour watercolor class focused on building confidence through foundational techniques

Step beyond loose florals and into a deeper, more confident watercolor practice.

This extended workshop is designed for those who are ready to slow down and truly understand the foundations of watercolor. Together, we’ll move beyond simply following steps and begin building the skills that allow you to paint with intention, freedom, and confidence.

You’ll learn how to see florals and botanicals differently—breaking them down into simple shapes, understanding how watercolor behaves, and gaining control over your brush, color theory, and composition.

Whether you’ve taken a previous class or are simply ready to grow, this experience will give you the tools to continue painting long after the workshop ends.

What You’ll Learn:

• Foundational watercolor techniques (water control, layering, brushwork)
• Color mixing and simple color theory for natural, cohesive palettes
• How to sketch and simplify florals and botanicals
• An introduction to line & wash techniques
