Andrew Lippa’s Wild Party is based on Joseph Moncure March’s 1928 narrative poem of the same name, this darkly brilliant show features one of the most exciting, pulse-racing scores ever written.
It’s the roaring 1920s and the beautiful, young Queenie, although she tries, cannot find a lover able to satisfy her desires – until she meets Burrs, a vaudevillian clown with a voracious appetite for women.
Lovers Queenie and Burrs decide to throw the party-to-end-all-parties in their Manhattan apartment. After the colorful arrival of a slew of guests living life on the edge, Queenie’s wandering eyes land on a striking man. As the decadence is reaching a climax, so is Burrs’ jealousy.
This show contains graphic and adult content as well as crazy good music. See the live play at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts.

Not content to let William Shakespeare get all the attention, the conniving but clueless Bottom brothers hatch a plan to cook up the next big stage hit. After an ill-advised trip to see Nostradamus’s food-obsessed nephew, they risk everything to produce what they believe will be the show of the future: the musical! Combining everything you love about Broadway—big dance numbers, bold costumes, and eye-rolling off-stage antics! 7pm. $48.
More information and tickets visit https://www.pagosacenter.org/
This deliriously funny Broadway hit hurls us back to the 1590s, where the Bottom brothers (Nick and Nigel) are struggling playwrights stuck in the shadow of a guy named Shakespeare. Correct, that Shakespeare, whose ego is matched only by his rhyming couplets. Desperate for a hit, the Bottoms consult a soothsayer named Nostradamus (nephew of that Nostradamus) who peers into the future and sees… musical theatre. Song! Dance! Omelettes!
Yes, omelettes!
What follows is a madcap scramble through showbiz tropes, Shakespearean jabs, and musical theater in-jokes, performed with such gusto and glee that even the Bard himself might drop his quill and start tap-dancing. Imagine ‘Rent’ by way of ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’… with a chorus line.
Directed by Dennis Elkins and choreographed by Pia Wyatt, this production features a crackerjack cast of national talent, plus local talents Hannah Rockensock and Leela Simpson.
No need to brush up on your Broadway knowledge or dust off your Complete Works. ‘Something Rotten!’ is the kind of show that rewards the theatre nerd and welcomes the theatre newbie. The original Broadway production earned 10 Tony nominations and snagged a few statues along the way. But awards aside, this is a show that lives to entertain. It sings. It struts. It scrambles.
And it might just be the funniest thing you see all summer.

Pop Culture Interactive Movie Party @ Liberty Theatre. The lives of two mob hitmen, a boxer, a gangster and his wife, and a pair of diner bandits intertwine in four tales of violence and redemption. Quentin Tarantino’s “Pulp Fiction” stands as a timeless masterpiece that effortlessly blends razor-sharp dialogue, unforgettable characters, dark humor, and a non-linear structure. With its irreverent attitude towards extreme violence, the film manages to captivate audiences while offering a thought-provoking exploration of nihilism and human nature. From its stellar performances to its meticulously woven narratives, “Pulp Fiction” remains a cinematic triumph that continues to enthrall and entertain.

7pm. $48.

Not content to let William Shakespeare get all the attention, the conniving but clueless Bottom brothers hatch a plan to cook up the next big stage hit.

“Key components in my paintings are the close-up or highly detailed rush work, textural elements and their relationship to light,” says Debra Ferrari. “I want my subjects to take center stage.”
Ferrari spends a great deal of time layering thin coats of oil paints, using pointed narrow lines and round sable ferrule brushes to create her fine, highly-detailed images.
“I strive for my compositions to have the ability to move the viewer emotionally by visually connecting them to each of my subjects.”
Ferrari is intrigued by the human-horse connection that she calls “equine alchemy”. She feels that humans are closely connected to horses, more than most people realize. “Horses are the only animals on earth that can read our emotions, know our thoughts and sense how we are feeling,” she says.
Her surroundings play a big part in her paintings, which are constantly changing and evolving every year.

The Flute Music at Twilight program takes place in the Chimney Rock National Monument amphitheater area, with an amazing view of the pinnacles above. Check-in time is 5:30; event time is 6-8pm. $20.
PROGRAMS DETAILS
This program is offered on select Saturday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. during quiet off-hours of the Monument. It begins from the amphitheater with a relaxing 1/4-mile walk up the nature trail, providing visitors with an experience of the natural environment along with beautiful views of the two pinnacles. Upon returning to the amphitheater, the program resumes with an informative lecture on topics specific to Chimney Rock such as the Ancestral Puebloan culture, archeoastronomy theories, the Major Lunar Standstill, geology, etc.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
As dusk progresses and stars begin to appear, you will be treated to the haunting melodies of a native American flute played by our own Charles Martinez. Visitors will gaze in wonder at the heavenly skies and ponder what significance they had for the Ancestral Puebloans when they looked up at the same night skies 1,000 years ago. Recommended for ages 4 and up.
TICKETS
Check-in is at the Highway 151 entrance gate at the time stated below. Please adhere to the check-in timeline. The gate will be promptly locked at the end of that time. Tickets are $20.00 for ages 13 and up, $10.00 for ages 5-12, and under 5 are free. Making a reservation through the Recreation.gov website or the call center (877-444-6777) is the only way to guarantee a spot for this program. Most programs are at full capacity prior to the event, but walk-ins will be accommodated if space is available. They will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, and must arrive during the specified check-in time frame. Tickets can be purchased directly from the gift shop.

Recreation.gov charges a $1.00 reservation fee that is non-refundable.
To ensure this tour is scheduled, reservations are strongly recommended. Reservations will be cut off 12 hours prior to the start of the programs. Most programs are at full capacity prior to the event, but walk-ins will be accommodated if space is available. They will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, and must arrive during the specified check-in time frame. Tickets can be purchased directly from the gift shop. Note: if no one has signed up for the tour by online reservation within the allotted time frame, the program will not run. No refunds will be issued for no-shows.
