We help immigrants and people preparing for citizenship with classes, training materials, tutoring, in formational resources, and ways to connect to the community.

Step up to the plate for a night of laughs, community spirit, and movie magic as Liberty Theatre proudly hosts a fundraiser for Pagosa’s very first girls softball team — The Stars & Strikes! Join us May 20 for the classic hit A League of Their Own and help these girls knock their dreams out of the park. Doors open at 6PM, team presentations begin at 6:30PM, and the movie starts right after. Every ticket sold helps provide startup funding for this incredible new team. Come cheer on the players before the first pitch of their journey… because unlike baseball, there WILL be crying if you miss this night! Grab your friends, wear your team spirit, and let’s fill the theatre for a home run community event!

Quiz for a Cause at Uncle’s Social, a fun-filled weekly trivia night where your knowledge can make a difference. Starts at 6:30pm. $10 per team.

Each month we support a different local non-profit, with all proceeds going directly to their important work. Gather your friends, test your trivia skills, and help us give back to the community while having great time! Don’t miss out on the chance to learn, laugh, and contribute to a worthy cause!  Teams can range from 1 person to 6 max.  The first question is asked at 6:30pm sharp so arrive early to get settled.   Come Hungry!  

When you hear the term “ice cave”, thoughts of dripping ice-encrusted stalactites clinging to the icy blue ceiling of a glacial cavern may come to mind. This hike is not that, yet it’s fascinating in its own right. Not really caves, these are more like giant cracks; fissures in the underlying Dakota sandstone. Varying in size from one to eight feet wide, up to a hundred feet long and 30 feet deep, these chasms are cool year-round and often hold snow well into the summer. Layers of rock tell a story as old as time. Your guide will briefly explain regional geology and Morrison, Dakota and Mancos stratigraphy (Jurassic/Cretaceous) and also explain theory for the origin of ice caves. Included is a side hike to a stunning clifftop grand vista of the San Juan Mountains in the distance, and deep riparian river valleys below.

Trail Information: This is a loop route, partially off trail, with sustained, moderately difficult inclines/declines, on rocky terrain near high cliffs. Hike time is approximately 4 hours total, 3.5 miles round trip, and about 500 ft. vertical ascent. We will finish at the parking lot just after noon, and there is a picnic area nearby if you wish to bring your own lunch to eat after the hike.

When: May 21, 2026 from 9am – 1pm

Where: Group meet at the Coyote Hill Trailhead, 6 miles north of Pagosa Springs on County Road 600. After a brief introduction, we will caravan to our next stop aprox. 20 miles further up the road.

What to Bring: Layers of cool and warm clothing, Water (1/2 to 1 liter per hour), Sturdy, supportive footwear, Lunch/snacks, Rain jacket or poncho, Hiking Daypack, Sunscreen and sunglasses, Camera

Cost: Free, $10 donation is greatly appreciated!

Please Note: Although pets are allowed in the national forest, we ask that pets be left at home as a courtesy to the other guests in the group.

What is Ecstatic Dance? People all over the globe are getting together in groups to move, dance, express themselves, and form community. This type of dance is very free-form, a moving meditation, a place for self-expression. There are no steps to learn. No ways you have to BE. It is a conscious coming together in joy and FREEDOM. The music is carefully selected to move emotion and help you get in touch with your SOUL.

Come as you are. No Experience Necessary! Bring a friend. Spread the word. We’re building community here in Pagosa Springs!

What to Expect:
Great music, great people, fun, sweat. We dance with our shoes off (unless that doesn’t work for you). We create a safe and sacred space for you to be you, to dance without judgement, to let go in body and mind, to feel free. We expect respect and consideration for others’ safety, space and boundaries. There’s no touching on the dance floor except with consent. Also, there’s no talking on the dance floor. The event will be approximately 2 hours.

Please bring your own blanket for the gong bath at the end. We’ll have extras if you can’t.

Love donation of $10-$20 suggested at the door.

Join SJMA and Ethan Proud of Archuleta County Weed and Pest on an educational “Read the Weeds” walk to identify some of the unwelcomed invasive weeds species that are taking root in the Pagosa area. This is an educational walk focused on helping participants understand how non-native weeds displace native flora and impact wildlife, as well as how they spread.

When: June 4, 2026 from 9am – 12pm

Where: Fourmile Falls Trailhead, about a 35 minute drive from downtown Pagosa

What to Bring:

• Layers of cool and warm clothing
• Water

• Snacks

Pagosa Springs Art Council and Liberty Theatre present GUITARS IN THE ROUND

The second annual “Guitars in the Round”.  Four singer-song writers will grace the Liberty stage, tell stories and play an eclectic variety of acoustic music for all to enjoy.  Featuring the music and voices of Colt Wayne Keeney, Bo DePena, Brendan Forrest & Sunny Gable.
